Pas Tomasiello, Dematic’s Person Of The Year for 2007
Dematic Awards Night
Dematic's annual staff award function is a celebration of the company's culture and has become a tradition at the company. Staff are recognised by their peers for outstanding performance, innovation, teamwork and customer commitment. First staged in 1982 in recognition of becoming NSW Exporter of the year and held annually ever since, the Awards function is integral in recognising the importance of customer focussed achievement.
This year 250 employees were in attendance and although the Awards took centre stage, everyone enjoyed the great venue - Sydney’s Luna Park, the fine food and entertainment provided by the excellent Three Waiters, a trio of very talented singers.
As in previous years outstanding achievement awards were presented to Dematic employees. Staff from all office locations around Australia and New Zealand recognised six individual award winners along with a team award.
An exceptional team effort to implement the largest grocery distribution centre in Australia for Woolworths at Larapinta in Queensland was the team award winner. The largest project undertaken by Dematic in Australia was constructed from more than 3600 tonnes of steel and at its peak a workforce of 120 delivered the massive project on time on budget.
Individual awards were presented for Outstanding Individual Commitment, Outstanding Innovation, Outstanding Individual Contribution, Outstanding Team Support, Best New Achiever, and Outstanding Customer Commitment. The ceremony culminated with Pas Tomasiello being awarded Dematic’s person of the year. Pas, Manager of Dematic’s Wholesale and Direct Distribution Team, was recognised for his drive to improve processes, exceed customer expectations, embrace innovation and build strong and trusting customer relationships.
